Dream Seekers
Looking for a beauty getaway without leaving town? The new dream spa, a light-filled haven overlooking Greenwich Avenue, feels more like a resort destination spa than a close-to-home beauty zone. The serene, contemporary interiors are swathed in white and gray, with pale wood floors, plush couches and leather chairs in the lounge (don’t miss the chewy gingersnaps to snack on post-treatment), chic sconces and fixtures from Klaffs, and amenities such as a couples treatment room. “What sets us apart is that the environment is part of the experience,” says owner Lori Dodd, who founded Dream Spa in Westport and has a beauty background that includes managing Barney’s New York apothecary. “The product lines here are more exclusive than you’ll find at other places.” These include Sachajuan hair care from Sweden, Charlotte Rhys beauty and bath line from South Africa and natural skincare by Vermont’s Tata Harper.
While the spa focuses on the classics—try the Wake Up Call package for a facial, massage, mani/pedi and lunch from Terra, across the street. Dream also offers state-of-the-art treatments, such as the BainUltra system with heat therapy, aromatherapy, music therapy, light therapy and chromatherapy and also a Suvara spray tanning room. The full-service hair salon is staffed with experienced stylists and colorists, but blow-dry walk-ins are welcome. With enough space to accommodate bridal parties, the spa will host Thursday spa social nights for champagne, mini facials and blowouts and Sunday beauty brunches. In a rush? Book the Dream Essentials service for a mini massage, facial and blow-dry; in an hour and a half, you’ll be back on the Avenue, glowing. 151 Greenwich Avenue, 203-629-2525; dreamspa.ferociousmediaweb.com
